Rivers Super League Enters ¼ Final Stage
The 2010 Rivers State Super League competition enters the quarter final stage today at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.
The four matches, with that between Dolphines FC’s Feeder Team and Brave Stars FC, seen as the top fixture and scheduled for the main bowl will be decided today.
According to the fixtures released by the state football association (RSFA), the matches would be played simultaneously at the main bowl and training pitches of the Liberation Stadium.
Other matches include Joecaster FC Vs Globek FC, Akpajo United Vs OLGA Stars while Sharks FC Feeder team would encounter Dinosaur FC. The matches would be played at 2.00pm and 4.00 pm, respectively.
Earlier, the Rivers State Football Coach, Tonye Chuku, okayed the standard of the games, saying that the boys (players) have exhibited discipline and commitment in the approach to the game.
He thus urged the players to maintain the tempo in subsequent tournaments both to the state or national level in order to excel in their chosen career. Meanwhile the semi-final is billed for Friday, May 21, 2010 at 2.00 pm at the main bowl pitch of the Liberation Stadium.
While the final is slated for Tuesday, 5th May, 2010 at the main bowl pitch of the Elekahia Stadium at 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm, respectively.
