Princewill Explains Political Future

Former leader of Action Congress Party (AC) in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill, has said that his future plan in politics is to continue to help in whatever way to bring governance closer to the people.

 Princewill, who stated this in an interview with newsmen recently denied the runour that he was working to become the deputy governor, noting that his ambition has been to uplift the living condition of the people of Rivers State.

He further noted that the state has a deputy governor, Engr Tele Ikuru, who is doing well with the governor and in whom the Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi is well pleased.

Explaining why he left his former party, Action Congress (AC), the former opposition leader regretted that the AC was no longer a party he could fight for, adding that, the party is becoming like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the former leaders.

 According to him, leaving Action Congress was no longer an option. Today, PDP in Rivers State is not as it was, I am happy leaving AC.”

He also explained that the difference between parties is just the individuals, stressing that his mission in politics is to see parties prescribing policies that will make people know why they are voting for them. 

 Princewill, however, appeared to the Rivers State government to adopt friendly approach on the on-going water front demolition exercise.                                    TheKalabari-born politician, who rated Governor Amaechi above average, called on the governor to improve on the power situation, health delivery services, and education; noting that the schools  he has built in various local government areas in the state are good but the schools need teachers and other facilities such as desks and tables.
