NSE Market Capitalisation Sheds N44.6 Billion

At the end of trading yesterday on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), traded equities declined marginally to close the market on a negative note.

Specifically, All Share Index shedded 197.21 points from 27,424.47 point traded the previous day, to close the market lower at 27,227.26 points.

 Market capitalisation went down by N44.6 billion from N6.7 trillion traded on Wednesday, to close lower at N6.6 trillion.

Investors at the end of transaction traded a total of 316,343,498 shares worth N3.4 billion in 11,133 deals, in constrast to 369,032,770 shares value at N4.3 billion which exchanged hands in 13,197 deals traded the pervious day.

The volume of traded equities went down by 52,689,372 shares or 14.3 per cent while the value of shares declined by N924.2 million.  

The gainers was led by OANDO which opened and closed at N82.66 and N117.8 respectively, gaining N35.14 per share.

CAP, WAPCO, UPL and Intbrew all followed, opening and closing at N32.7, N34.33; N41.05, N42; N7.21, N7.57, N5.1 and N5.35 respectively, gaining N1.63, N0.95, N0.36 and N0.25 respectively.

 On the other hand, Conoil, NBC and Longman were at the forefront of losers chart after losing N2.62, N1.5 and N0.44 per share respectively.
