NSE: Index, Capitalisation Rise To End Week Positively
At the end of transactions, on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Friday, market index and capitalization rose to end the week on a positive note.
Specifically, market index went up by 333.79 points to close the week highes at 26,183.21 points from 25,849.42 points which was traded on the floor the previous day.
Market capitalisation also appreciated by N81.2 billion or 204.6 per cent to close the week higher at N6.4 trillion from N6.3 trillion which was traded on Thursday.
However, investors at the end of trading brought a total of 360,973,188 shares worth N3.4 billion in 10,502 deals compared to 689,265,110 shares worth N4.8 billon which was traded on Thursday.
The volume of traded equities went down by 328,294,922 shares or 47.6 per cent from 689,265, 110 shares to close at 360,973,188 shares.
Also the value of shares traded beared by N1.4 billion or 29.2 per cent to close at N3.4 billion.
Mobil, BCC and Cadbury lined up on the front burners of the gainers chart, opening and closing at N150.9, N158.44; N63.1, N66 and N29.4, N30.8 respectively, gaining N7.54, N2.9 and N1.4 per share respectively.
7up on the other hand led the losers chart after losing N2.02 per share.
