Lawmaker Dies In Native Doctor’s Shrine
A grassroot lawmaker from Rivers State has given up the ghost after taking a concoction from a native doctor in Ijebuode in Ogun State.
Small Talks gathered that the lawmaker was diabetic, and the illness has kept him out of the council’s chambers for sometime.
We learnt that the councilor recovered from the ailment sometime ago and had a thanksgiving ceremony to that effect.
But trouble started when his meat-seller Yoruba friend advised him to follow him to Ijebu ode for a permanent cure.
Small Talks checks revealed that when the deceased councilor was about embarking on the journey, he lied to both his wife and Pastor that he was going for a seminar organized for councilors in Lagos.
On his way, Small Talks further learnt, his personal Assistant insisted on joining him to Ijebuode.
When they arrived the medicine man’s place, he (Native doctor) gave the lawmaker a concoction which made him to vomit uncontrollably.
Along the line, he requested for food and was given moi-moi, which worsened the situation.
On sensing danger, the Native doctor advised his PA and friend to rush him to the state’s hospital in Ijaye where he gave up the ghost.
Small Talks learnt that preliminary medical reports indicated food poisoning.
The PA and meat seller friend to the councilor are now helping Police to trace the native doctor who is now at large.
