FG Declares Monday Public Holiday
The Federal Government has declared Monday, May 31, 2010 a public holiday to commemorate this year’s democracy day which comes up on Saturday, May 29th 2010.
Making this known in a statement, the Minister of Interior, Captain Emmanuel Iheanachor (rtd) explained that the government gesture was in honour of the late President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
According to the statement, Special prayers will be offered at the National Mosque and the National Christian Centre for the repose of the soul of late President Yar’Adua, and for divine guidance of President Goodluck Jonathan in piloting the affairs of the nation.
Jumat prayers will hold at the National Mosque, centre area on Friday at 1.30pm while inter-denominational church service will hold on Sunday at Noon at the Christian Centre.
