Consensus: Amaechi To Get Guber Ticket For 2011

There is indication that the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Rivers State would pick Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi as Consensus gubernatorial candidate of the party for 2011 election.

A PDP Stakeholder and Chairman Local Government Service Commission in the State, Chief Ephraim Owoh-Etete said though Governor Amaechi had never indicated interest for second tenure the party would surely pick him by consensus based on his credible qualities and track record to move the state forward”.

Owoh-Etete who gave the indication at the reception of the Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Hon. Emilia Nte by the people of Isiodum – Andoni urged the people of the area to support and vote PDP come 2011 election.

He noted that Governor Amaechi administration has opened the door post for Rivers people to enjoy full dividends of democracy, as well as reap the fruits of resources in the state.

Owoh-Etete however dismissed insinuation in some quarters that PDP is divided in the state. He insisted that there is no faction in PDP, right from the state to local government levels.

In his words, “PDP is infact, we don’t have any fractions in the party,” and urged the people of Andoni to support Governor Amaechi, and Andoni LGA Chairman in their efforts to take Andoni to the next developmental level.

He lauded the council boss for her remarkable performance in Andoni so far since taking over from her predecessor.

Addressing the people, the chairman of Andoni LGA, Hon. Mrs Emilia Nte thanksed the people of the area for the honour even as he promised them of the provision of power plant for electricity supply, renovation of six classroom blocks and water supply.

She advised the people against engaging in political violence or protest for marching ground, saying such are criminal offences liable in law.
