Atiku Blame Nigerian Sufferings on human error
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that the sufferings being experienced by Nigerian masses were as a result of human errors.
He made this remark on Saturday in Jada, headquarters of Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa, while addressing party faithfuls from Ganye Chiefdom which comprised Jada and Ganye council areas.
He said most of the problems bedevilling the country were caused by human errors, “deliberately done by politicians through the imposition of leaders on the electorate”.
“Through such undemocratic processes, leaders, who were not capable of leading in the affairs of the people were imposed on the electorate, and such attitude had ruined the nation’s quest for meaningful development,” he added
He said that it was such attitude that made him to leave the PDP before the 2007 elections.
The former vice president told the crowd, who came to welcome him back into the PDP, that he returned to the party to effect changes.
He explained that the stiff opposition against his return to the PDP was due to his disagreement over imposition and appointment of leaders against the wishes of the electorate.
He explained that he did not register through a faction of the party in the state but that he followed due process during his return to the PDP on April 7.
He described claims by some politicians that he did not follow due process during his return to the party as political gimmick.
Earlier, Mr Muhammad Bassi and Mr Gambo Garamba, who spoke on behalf of the party faithful and executives of 11 wards within the council area, had told Atiku that they did not believe in factionalisation of the party in Jada and Ganye council areas.
They said that 80 per cent of the crowd was made up of loyalists of the state Chairman of the party, Alhaji Umar Kugama, who organised the occasion to formally welcome Atiku back into the party.
