Members of the National Anti- Corruption Volunteer Corps (NACV), of the ICPC on Tuesday, took anti-corruption campaign to major streets of Abakaliki.   During the five hours walk which covered major streets in the city, the group created awareness on the ills of corruption and corrupt practices on the economy.   Mr Udonsi Aruah, Head, ICPC Enugu Zonal Office said the forum was a platform to mobilise the people against corruption in all facets of the economy.   “Corruption is evil. And we need to mobilise Nigerians against the ill as we evolve ways of stamping it out in our society.     The fight against corruption must be tackled head long in order to achieve maximum result,’’ he said.   He advised members of the public to imbibe the culture of transparency in all their private and public lives, and to always resist the temptation to be corrupted.   According to him, members of the public should not hesitate to report corrupt persons or group to the appropriate anti-corruption agencies to help check corruption.   On his part, Mr Kelechi Okezie, State Coordinator, NACV noted that the spate of corruption in private and public places was becoming alarming, hence the street to street campaign to expose its negative effects on the economy.   He urged Nigerians to be honest in their dealings in an effort to stamp out corrupt practices in the country.
