Members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been called to always remain resolute, committed and loyal to the leadership of the party.

Making the call Monday in a chat with newsmen in Enugu , the PDP House of Representatives aspirant for Enugu East / Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency , Enugu State, in  2011,  Mr. Dave Nnamani noted that the call became necessary because the current internal crisis rocking the party would make it stronger in the end .

Describing the crisis as normal, Mr Nnamani said : “Sometimes you disagree to agree in politics. The disagreement rather than tear the party apart,  as believed in some quarters, especially the opposition,   would make the largest political party in Africa stronger and united in all ramifications.

“The internal wrangling would go a long way in strengthening the operations of the party”, he insisted.

According to him, PDP as a political party   remains an enigma because her umbrella has the capability of accommodating all its  stakeholders, calling on members at all levels   to always  remain resolute, and   committed to its  affairs  as well as  loyal to the party’s leadership.

It would be recalled that  there was a zoning   arrangement in 2007, between the people of Isi – Uzo where Nnamani hails from, and the people of   Enugu East where the incumbent representative, Hon. Gilbert Nnaji comes from.

The zoning formula had it that after  Enugu East must have   concluded   their  two terms of  four years each,   the mantle of leadership of that  federal constituency would move to Isi Uzo area .

Speaking with newsmen  in Enugu shortly after meeting with Enugu East  Local Government PDP executive committee  members, including  the  14 ward   chairmen and secretaries in the area, the aspirant explained that  the aim   of the forum was to create    awareness about his ambition among the people of Enugu East who are also major stakeholders and  part of   the  constituency .

He further explained  that  in addition to the slot  being zoned to his area in 2011, his ambition is also hinged on the spirit of justice, equity, and fair play which  he said, remains the  hallmark of true democracy.

Mr Nnamani also made it clear that   the incumbent (Nnaji),  has already  indicated interest to vie for the Enugu East Senatorial zone seat currently being occupied by the  immediate past governor of Enugu State , Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani.

Nnamani, who promised to consolidate on the achievements already recorded by Nnaji if given the opportunity to serve, solicited for the support and cooperation of the   electorate in  the area, assuring that he would not fail them.

He stated that  his priority in the lower chambers of the nation’s National Assembly,  if voted into power, would be to align himself with progressive minds who understand  that power belongs to the people to initiate bills  that would impact positively on the electorate who gave them the   mandate to serve.

He noted that the masses are suffering untold hardship as a result of poor planning.
