Uduaghan Tasks Christians On Easter
Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta has appealed to Christians to use the Easter celebrations for sincere reflection and reconciliation.
Uduaghan made the call on Saturday in Asaba in a message to mark the Easter.
“For most Christians, Easter is a time for spiritual renewal for families here and around the world.
“It is also a period for them to be positive about tomorrow, especially while reflecting on the sacrifice our Lord and Saviour made for the sins of mankind.
“It is a time filled with opportunity and hope, a time to look at old problems in new ways and a time for strengthening our faith in God through His son, Jesus Christ.
“In this spirit, I ask fellow Deltans and indeed all Nigerians, to reflect anew on the theme of resurrection, which is the true essence of Easter.
“I urge all to take the celebrations as a time for sincere reflection and reconciliation.
“Jesus Christ taught humility, friendship, leadership and organisation with exemplary character.
“As Christians, we must learn to be Christ–like in all our day to day activities whether in private or public,” he said.
He stressed the need to shun intolerance and divisiveness and instead embrace mutual understanding, love and respect.
He also urged the people of Delta to cooperate with him to ensure the attainment of sustainable development and that it touched every sector of the state.
“As we renew our commitment to family and friends, let us also renew our commitment to all Deltans – those with us today and those whose future we can play crucial roles to positively touch,” he said.
