Olusola Warns On Jos Crisis

The chairman, Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Chief Segun Olusola, says if the people of Jos succeed in separating Christians from Muslims it will have repercussion all over Nigeria.

The UPF is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).

Chief Olusola who made the observation during an interview with The Tide  at the International Airport, Omagwa, near Port Harcourt,  described that is happening in Jos as an iceberg if it is not urgently controlled.

He said that if the people of Jos and their likes in the North succeed in frightening some elements who belong to other parts of Nigeria rather than Plateau state, it will have adverse effect on the whole country.

Chief Olusola, who was in Port Harcourt, to declare open, a workshop for members of African Refugees Foundation, a Non- Government Organisation (NGO), of which he is founder disclosed that in collaboration with the Ambassadors for Peace are working out modalities for the various parts of the country including Bakassi to remain together as it is too late for Nigeria to separate.  He advised that Nigerians should not see any indigene not originated from their areas as a stranger rather, they should regard themselves as one community, pointing out that Nigeria cannot survive any plot to separate now.

 The indigene / stranger dichotomy should be discard, he urged and sued for peace and unity among all Nigerians, irrespective of religion, culture or political inclination. 

On the issue of the Niger Delta, Chief Olusola appealed to the people of the region to see themselves as one and indivisible family and speak in one voice in the pursuit of their problems, noting that what happened in the region in recent times took place in other parts of the country.

According to him, the federal government had rolled out its programme for the Niger Delta and expressed the hope that the plans would be implemented accordingly.
