Ogoni Students Honour Community Leader
The National Union of Ogoni Students (NUOS) has been warned to desist from acts capable of jeopardising their academic pursuit.
Chief Solomon Lah, a community leader in Ogoniland gave the advise while he was honoured with an award for excellence by NUOS during an orientation and welcome ceremony for new students at the old Engineering Department of Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori.
Lah also advised the students to remain focused and take their studies seriously while using the forum to commend Governor Chibuike Amaechi in his zeal to instill peace in Ogoniland.
Presenting the award to Chief Lah, the President-General of NUOS, Giimah Barizaa Beriard highlighted the contributions of the community leader, which cuts across sports and community development.
The event also witnessed presentation of seminar papers by Hon. Vincent Elbec and Shederack K. Ben.
Over 50 members of the NUOS attended the occasion.
