Nigerians’ll Get Steady Supply, NNPC Assures
The new Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Alhaji Shehu Ladan, has assured Nigerians of steady fuel supply.
A statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the corporation said Ladan gave the assurance when Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Patrick Yakowa, visited him.
NNPC Group General Manager, Public Affairs, Dr Levi Ajuonuma, who signed the statement, said Ladan, would use his vast experience to take the corporation to greater heights.
‘Let me say without any doubt in my mind that I will take this responsibility very seriously”, the GMD said.
“I am aware of the heavy challenges ahead because NNPC is one huge organisation that is expected to touch the lives of Nigerians in many positive ways.”
He commended Acting President Goodluck Jonathan for the confidence reposed in him and assured of his readiness to carry out his new assignment with every sense of responsibility.
“I take my appointment as a very serious assignment given to me by God through the instrumentality of the Acting President to serve the country and I am determined to deliver positive results,” he said.
In his remarks, Yakowa described the appointment of Ladan as well deserved.
“Ladan has outstanding career records right from his tenure as the Commissioner for Education and later Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Kaduna State.
“He had a career in NNPC as group executive director, Commercial and Investment.
“Also, he is eminently qualified to lead the NNPC considering his rich experience in the oil and gas industry.
‘We, the people of Kaduna State have no doubt that he will do the state and the nation proud during his tenure as the GMD of NNPC,” Yakowa said.
