Kpakol Storms The Tide, Round Table, NUJ Platform

The National Co-ordinator of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP), Dr Magnus Kpakol storms Port Harcourt, Rivers State, today.

While in the state, Dr Kpakol would be guest of “The Tide Roundtable” a weekly personality interview programme of the Rivers state Newspaper Corporation, and thereafter, appear before The Platform, Organised by the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Kpakol will at both fora brief journalists on efforts being made by the federal government on poverty eradication and present Nigerians with what many expect to be the report card of NAPEP.

A key area that Kpakol may need to address is the recent controversy generated by the purchase of 5,000 tricycles.

This will be the first time since his appointment that Dr Kpakol will be facing the vibrant South-South press with its base in Port Harcourt and promises to be  stormy media sessions.

Among conferees expected at the NUJ platform are chief executives of media organisations, publishers, correspondents of reputable newspapers in the South-South and other top practicing journalists.
