Heartland FC In Closed Camping For Tiko Utd
Heartland FC of Owerri have moved into a closed camping for the second leg of CAF Champions League against Tiko United of Cameroon this weekend.
The match is scheduled for the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
The first leg played in Douala, Cameroun, a fortnight ago ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Heartland Media Officer, Cajethan Nwopara, said that the team used their Premier League home encounter with Kano Pillars on Wednesday to strategise against Cameroon.
He described both games as ‘very crucial’, adding that the team had planned to put the players in good shape.
Nwopara said Coach Kelechi Emeteole and his assistant, Ben Iroha had, after training on Monday, had directed no fewer than 20 players to report to camp immediately.
They include the Super Eagles Team B quartet of John Owoeri, Augustine Brown, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu and Ike Thankgod.
The players had all participated in the team’s encounter with Niger Republic last weekend.
“The technical crew is working towards parading their best available materials against Tiko Utd, despite going into the return leg tie with two away goals advantage,’’ he said.
