Coach International Table Tennis Federation (lTIF) Level I Clinic has  lauded the organisers, saying they had learnt a lot from the exercise.   Union Bank Table Tennis Club coach, Samson Ajayi, said  that the clinic touched all aspects of the game which would be of immense benefit to them.

Ajayi said the theoretical and practical aspects of the clinic had improved their knowledge of the game, adding that it would help them produce better players.

“It’s like a workshop, this is because of the kind of skill and techniques that we have been taught and the different body exercises involved.

“Judging from what I’ve learnt from this clinic, players under me will experience new things like serving, body flexibility and the different exercises,” he said.

Dele Olasunbo, from the Lagos Table Tennis Association, said the knowledge gained was beneficial to all the coaches.

He said it would enhance their job performance and the ability to impart new skills to their players.

Olasunbo called formation of such a clinic saying it should be made an annual event as it showed that “most of us are backward”.

A coach, Hamed Ismail-Sumer, who arrived late, expressed regret that he was denied  opportunity to participate in the clinic.

“I missed the first class due to some logistics problem and when 1 eventually arrived, 1 was told by the resource person that it was too late for me to join others who had gone far,” Ismail Sumer said.

Boe Kaffo, the organiser, told  she had stopped Sumer from joining the class on the second day as a disciplinary measure.
