ACF, INC Task Nigerians On National Dev
Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and Ijaw National Congress (INC) have urged Nigerians to stop destroying their rich cultural values and social relationships but to face the challenges of national development.
The groups made the call at the end of a meeting in Kaduna last Wednesday during which they deliberated on current socio-economic and political developments in the country.
The INC delegation led by Dr. Atuboyedia Wolfe-Ibianime, and the ACF group led by its Chairman, retired Gen. I.B.M. Haruna, said history had brought the people together over the years in the interest of the country.
Haruna commended the past and present Nigerian leaders in their efforts toward fostering national unity and development but condemned social and political crises in some parts of the country.
“In spite of our political and social differences we can still manage our country and make it strong and dynamic in the comity of nations. “Your visit has strengthened our resolve and we can succeed together in unity,’’ Haruna said.
Wolfe-Ibianime had earlier recalled the historic links between the North and the Niger Delta people, saying the meeting was aimed at deepening the relationship between the groups.
“We are here to felicitate and dialogue with you over national issues at the level of ethnic nationalities. We come with goodwill for better Nigeria.
