2011 I’ve Three Options -Princewill
Following the seeming disagreement in forming the Mega Party and the subsequent move by the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Action Congress (AC) leader in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill says he is on the crossroad on what step to take next in his political career.
Princewill who stated this in an interactive session with Journalists in Port Harcourt last Wednesday, said he was consulting with various groups in AC and other groups before taking any action, noting that he has three options left for him.
The Kalabari Prince explained that the three options left were either to remain in his current party, AC and crushed by the current leader of the party, Senator Bola Tinubu whom he said had purportedly colonised the party or to follow his political godfather, Atiku and join the ruling PDP.
He noted that the other option is to disengage from politics and face his business; but said he feels for his followers who have been supportive and source of encouragement since he stepped into politics in 2007.
He noted that the formation of the Mega Party which was supposed to pose a challenge to the PDP in 2011 election crashed due to selfish interest of some of the leaders, noting that Gen. Muhammed Buhari who was one of the initiators of the party had decided to form a new political party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), while Olu Falae, Lateef Jakande and Prof. Pat Utomi have gone ahead to form their own party.
