Winners Emerge In NAPPS Quiz
About 40 nursery, primary, junior and senior secondary schools participated in a quiz competition organised on Monday by the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, (NAPPS), in Rivers State.
The competition which was held at the Wisdom International College, Borikiri, Port Harcourt involved 25 Nursery/Primary schools, nine junior and six senior secondary schools.
Addressing the participants, the chairman of NAPPS, Rivers State chapter, Chief Victor Green said, the need to keep the pupils and students mentally alert through quiz competition cannot be over emphasised.
Chief Victor who is also the proprietor of Base Comprehensive College, Borikiri, noted that private school proprietors needed to wake-up in view of the quality of infrastructure and staff which the Amaechi administration is putting in place in the state.
According to Green, private schools proprietors needed to reequip their schools to meet the challenges posed by government if they wish to remain relevant in the education sector and praised the students for participating, saying they need to build their confidence as future leaders.
He congratulated the winners and urged others never to feel depressed as a winner is bound to emerge in every competition.
Winners which emerged at the competition are Royal Academy School which scored 85 points to clinch first position at the primary school category, Wesley Methodist Primary School came second with 75 points while Iverok Primary School took third position.
In the junior secondary school category, Iverok Group of Schools came first with 38 points, Light Bearers came second with 36 points, while God First Academy clinched third position with 34 points.
The host, Wisdom Child International College came first in the senior secondary school category with 45 points while Base Comprehensive College, Borikiri and Iverok Group of Schools came second and third with 43 and 42 points respectively.
The winners were rewarded with trophies and books.
