Rival Cults Clash Claims 5 Lives

The Police in Ogun on Wednesday confirmed five persons dead following a bloody clash between two rival cult groups in Sagamu.
Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state’s police command, confirmed the incident in an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta.
Adejobi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) described one of the victims, Kehinde Ogunsanwo, as “a notorious member of one of the cult groups in the area”.
The police image said that three cartridges were found on Kehinde’s corpse.
He, however, assured members of the public that “policemen have been deployed to the area to restore normalcy”.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Daura, has ordered the Divisional Police Officer (DPO),in charge of Sagamu and the area commander to flush out the cultists in the town.
Our correspondent learnt that Ogunsanwo, was shot dead in front of his father’s residence on Ode-Lemo road, Sabo, Sagamu
Eyewitness told our correspondent that the clash started at the weekend between Black Axe and Eiye Confraternity causing panic among residents.
The son of a former chairman of the local government was also said to have lost his life as a result of the bloody face-off between the rival cults.
