FG Wades Into Nollywood Film Business
In a bid to be part and exploit the economic contributions of the Nigerian-motion picture industry otherwise known as Nollywood, the Federal Government has inaugurated an inter-ministerial committee to supervise intense training programme for film and movie producers in the country.
The training from what we gathered, when it kicks off will last for a month and it is aimed at building capacity in the industry as well as raising standards of work that are being pushed into the market.
According to chief Chike Odom, former minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory who disclosed this to journalists, the federal government has set up a 20-man committee for the scheme expected to start this month at Abuja where 36 professional film directors will be on the ground to impart their knowledge on Nollywood practitioners.
According to him, the venue of the programme would soon be made public same with names of directors that will benefit from the scheme.
