Daughter, 16, Stabs Father To Death In PH
The village of Mgbuosimini Orazi in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has been thrown into confusion following the stabbing to death of a 50-year-old man, Emeka Okochi by his 16-year old daughter, Miss Mamaa Okochi.
Community sources told The Weekend Tide that trouble started when the deceased allegedly hit his six-month old grand child on the floor, later carried him to a nearby gutter and poured dirty water on his face with the intention of killing him.
This situation, the sources said, angered Miss Mamaa, the mother of the baby who took a kitchen knife and stabbed him on the chest and back shoulder.
The deceased, however, died while he was being rushed to the hospital.
A member of the family who spoke under condition of anonymity, said that Mr Emeka, a father of six had been exhibiting an unusual behaviour within the past two weeks in the community.
According to him in the past two weeks, the deceased allegedly threatened the villagers with knife and other dangerous weapons.
Speaking in an interview with The Weekend Tide, the chairman of the Mgbuosimini, Orazi community Development Committee (CDC), Prince Richard Chukwu, described the incident as an abomination to the community, stressing that the gods of the land must be appeased.
“Nobody is happy, because it is a bad omen for a child to stab her father to death,” he said.
At the Rumukpakani Police Station, a senior police officer, who spoke with The Weekend Tide, confirmed the incident, but said investigation was still on”.
