Churches Should Defend Truth Always –RSG
The Rivers State Government has challenged churches and other religious organisations in the state to always defend the truth.
The commissioner of Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, gave this charge, yesterday, in Port Harcourt, during the second Marine Base Unity rally organised by the marine Base zone of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) .
Mrs Semenitari also urged the churches to speak out when the government derails, stressing that as a sacred institution, churches must not condone evil, regretting that most churches have jettisoned the truth in pursuit of materialism.
Speaking on the theme: Can anything good come out of Marine Base”, the state president of the Pentecostal fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Apostle Zilly Aggrey described his life as a former marine base boy as a testimony that God can call out people from any where.
Apostle Aggrey also urged Christians to be prayerful as that is the only way to succeed in their various miniseries.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Marine Base zonal chairman of the fellowship, Rev Godswill E.D.Jumbo said that Apostle Zilly Aggrey has indeed proved that good things can come out of Marine Base.
Rev Jumbo also said that the zone needs the sum of N150million for the procurement of a permanent site for its secretariat, 14 seater bus, musical instrument and computers.
