Be Focused, Ogba Monarch Tells Jonathan

The Acting President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has been told to vehemently resist intimidation and distraction by enemies of good governance but be focused, bold and firm as he commences fast-tracking the nation’s development which had been stagnated in recent times.
The Oba (Eze-Ogba of Ogbaland) and immediate past Chairman, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence, Sir Dr. Chukumela Nnam Obi II (OON,JP) who made the call in his reaction to the ‘state of the nation’ requested the acting president never to look back but act fast by ensuring that all noticeable problems confronting the country were nibbed in the bud in the shortest time as to accelerate the socio-economic, political and religious growth of the nation.
According to the Ogba Monarch, the acting president should give all reform programme human face as the nation is faced with daunting challenges and workers welfare be given proper attention as to ensure better standard of living for them, especially, in view of the adverse effects of the global economic/financial meltdown.
He told Dr. Jonathan to implement without delay the amnesty offer granted Niger-Delta ex-militants as to bring final peace to the region and that he should also find lasting solution to the incessant Jos violence as it has portrayed the nation in bad light.
Oba Chukumela Obi, the Pioneer National President of Traditional Rulers of Oil and Mineral Producing Committees of Nigeria (TROMPCON) who condemned in strong terms the attacks and aspersion cast on the personality of the acting president, warned those behind such ugly actions to desist in their own interest as his unanimous mandate to act as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following the ill-health of his master really saved the country from the hands of faceless cabals and enemies of democracy who were preparing to use the opportunity of the political tension and suspense in the country then to strike.
He called on Nigerians irrespective of their tribes, sex, political, social and religious leaning to have confidence in the administration of the acting president in the task of building the country into an enviable nation.
The Eze-Ogba used the opportunity to mourn the recent passing on of the Lamido 11th of Adamawa, Dr Aliyu Mustapha, describing him as an outspoken, God-fearing and detribalised royal father who always had at heart the interests of all Nigerians when contributing at any traditional ruler’s forum.
He commended the Adamawa Emirate Council for peacefully and successfully selecting the new Lamido Adamawa the 12th, Alhaji Barkindo, and wished the new traditional ruler good health and wisdom to discharge his duties to the glory of God and benefit of mankind.
Commenting on the recent utterances by the Libyan President Col. Muammar Gaddafi that Nigeira should be split into two countries on religious basis, the first class royal father called on Nigerians to ignore the comments which is inciting and condemnable.
