RSG Dissolves Petroleum Taskforce

Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has approved the dissolution of the state petroleum monitoring committee with effect from January 1, 2010

Consequently, the commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Dr Dawari George on behalf of the state government , wishes to thank members of the commmittee for their services to the people of the state especially in preventing the hoarding and diversion of petroleum products and ensuring availability of same in the state, a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr George Nwolu stated.

The commissioner’s statement further  directed members to submit to the office of the permanent secretary all identity cards and appointment letters to prevent them from parading themselves as member.

The special Intervention Team of the Commissioner’s office, the statement further said, will cover the activities of the committee until a new  one is reconstituted.
