The proprietor of the National Professional Secondary School (NAPA), Mr Ibitroko Bob-Manuel has applauded the Rivers State Government’s resolve to revalidate and register all private schools in the state.

Mr. Bob-Manuel, who stated this in an exclusive interview with The Tide on Tuesday, said the exercise will help the State Government streamline the activities of private schools.

He said it will also ensure that such schools meet the required standard set by government.

While stressing the importance of the exercise, Bob-Manuel noted that since we have a good government that operate a due process and also gives priority attention to development in the educational sector, that will go a long way in solving some problems facing our educational system, he said.

Bob-Manuel continued that it will also check the emergence of illegal schools since it will ensure that schools conform with the new national policy on education.

He thus advised all ascribing proprietors to ensure they register with the National Association of proprietors (NAPS) who will duely guide them in the rules and regulations governing the ownership of schools.

“The exercise,” he continued, “will also help government to check the activities of shylock proprietors whose sole objective is to make money even at the detriment of government and its citizenry,” he stated.
