Ogbulafor Warns PDP Faction In Ebonyi
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor has warned that the party will sanction a parallel faction of the party in Ebonyi if it continues with its anti-party activities and urge members of the party in the state not to associate with the faction.
Ogbulafor said in a statement, yesterday, in Abuja that the Dave Umahi-led Exco is the only recognised Party Exco in Ebonyi State and accordingly urged their ‘teeming’ supporters in the state to continue to co-operate with his administration in the interest of peace and unity of the Party.
The PDP National Chairman who was reacting to a story in the Vanguard Newspaper of February 9, 2010 (P.13) insinuating that a parallel Party Exco has been created in Ebonyi State said that the warning and clarification were necessary because ‘we (are) approaching the electioneering period.’
“However, we are aware that some highly placed individuals from Ebonyi are behind the move to factionalise the Party in the State for their selfish ambition and they are well-known to us”, he said in the statement.
Ogbulafor continued: “We call on them to dissolve such parallel structures immediately; otherwise, the Party will not hesitate to discipline them appropriately.”
