Garden City Celebrates Valentine In Style
February 14th of every year has come to be seen as a day people all over the world, both old an young celebrate the death of Saint Valentine, a Catholic priest who died for love in February 14, 270 AD. Since then the date has been globally accepted as a day to celebrate true love, affection and tolerance with gifts to friends, loved ones and well-wishes.
In Port Harcourt, the Garden city of Nigeria and centre of entertainment, many bubbling joints were awash with various musical jamborees amidst glitzy glamour and razzmatazz. Some of these joints include Daniels Bar situated at 175 King Perekule Street, GRA Phase II Port Harcourt. This Popular entertainment joint featured Valentine Red Carpet and masked party.
The highlights of the day included, long kiss competition, best masked dressed couple, best dancing couple, raffle draw, wall of fame and lots more. Eddiez Wine Bar also celebrated Valentine in a special way. Situated at 11A Emeyal Street, GRA Phase I, the entertainment hang out became the attraction of most fun-seekers who thronged the place to catch fun with the best drinks in the world at their disposal.
At Ojike Street in Mile I Diobu, Port Harcourt, it was a night of glitz and glamour as no stone was left unturned to ensure full entertainment. The chairman of Ojike Street Central Working Committee for the Valentine Unity Party, Mr Owabie Worlu who spoke with The Tide Entertainment said Valentine’s Day was a day to celebrate love, a time to give and take which every well-meaning individual must be involved in.
Other joints that had Valentine special shows include Hotel Presidential , Port Harcourt, Tanebi Gardens Port Harcourt Tourist Beach and the Syndicate Nite Club among others which had Daniel D Humourous and Boomerang featuring as guest artisties and strip/pole dancers.
