Ake, Architect Of Power-Shift -Secondus

The National Organising Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondu, has said that the Rivers State chairman of the party, Chief G.U Ake was instrumental to the shifting of power from the area now known as Bayelsa State to other parts of the old Rivers State.

The party’s national organising secretary who disclosed this during the 70th birthday celebration of Chief G.U Ake at Erema,  yesterday, also said that it was that plan that made it possible for Chief Rufus Ada-George an Okrika man to emerge as governor in the old Rivers State.

Prince Secondus, who was the immediate past State Chairman of the PDP also said that Ake contributed to the emergence of both Dr Peter Odili and the incubment, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as governors.

He described Chief Ake as an embodiment of truth, humility and service, stressing that his activities have changed the lives of millions of Rivers people.

Earlier, the National chairman of the party, Chief Vincent Ogbulafor who chaired the occasion had described Ake as a trust worthy officer of the party.
