AC Alleges Assassination Plots On Princewill, Ginah

The Action Congress party (AC) in Rivers State has raised alarm over alleged plans by political opponents to assassinate the party leader in the state, Prince Tonye Princewill and the Commissioner for Urban Development, Barr. Osima Ginah.
  The party in a statement yesterday also alleged that there were other secret plans by some faction leaders of the AC to assassinate Princewill and his lieutenants as well as muzzle them out of office.
  The statement which was signed by publicity secretary of the party, Chief Eze Chukwumenam Eze  and made available to The Tide said the plan to assassinate Princewill would not be unconnected with his rising profile and the supports from both party members and Rivers people in general.
  According to Chief Eze, “the eight point Agenda tagged “My Pact, Mission and Vision” was presented to the National leaders of the party and state leaders two week ago in Lagos.
  The party also noted that apart from the plot to assassinate the party leader, there were also clandestine moves to smear Princewill’s image through some local media.
  He said the strategies included, “Operation Destroy Tonye Princewill and Amaechi, Assassination, Destruction of the fibre of the state chapter of the party and subsequently hijack its machinery and other strategies.
  “We have it on good authority that to achieve this dastardly agenda to assassinate  Prince Tonye Princewill and his lieutenants, some militant leaders who were recently granted amnesty have been recruited by some opposition leaders in the state to carry out the plot. While some key former actors of Rivers State AC are to be used to destabilise and hijack the party and subsequently distabilise the administration of Amaechi”.
  The party however decided that its leader was arrested over similar reason as alleged published by a local tabloid, explaining that Princewill being the law abiding citizen, he commend the invitation of the state CID Port Harcourt on the 22nd February 2010, to clarify details of petition written by one Mrs. Sotonye who was the Branch Manager, United Bank for Africa (UBA).
  The statement said “It is on record that Prince drove himself to the state CID and waited for the officer in charge of the petition to come to the office and take his statement and that after 30 minutes, he drove himself back and later travelled through Port Harcourt International Airport Omagwa the same day to Abuja where he attended NDM meeting where he is an active member.
