UNIPORT PG Students Honour Uchendu
University of Port Harcourt Post Graduate students under the aegis of Emohua Post –Graduates Forum has honoured the member representing Emohua/Ikwerre in the House of Representatives Chief Andrew Uchendu with a merit award over his outstanding leadership style in the area.
Presenting the award to Chief Uchendu, the president of the group, Mr Bright Ikechukwu Bethel said that there was no better way to say thank you to the recipient than what they have done.
Mr Bethel revealed how the awardee had helped students from his constituency and beyond.
He also narrated how Chief Uchendu empowered over 70 widows and 100 youths, adding that if other politicians could borrow a leaf from him the era of non empowerment by politicians could have been a thing of the past.
“Therefore, we have gathered here as a mark of respect and honour to a man who has positively touched lives with his philanthropic acts. We will not forget in a hurry your empowerment of 70 widows as well as empowerment of 100 youths”, he said.
The students union leader, further appealed to the lawmaker to always remember the entire Emohua students in his scheme of things.
In his response, Chief Uchendu, thanked the Uniport PG students for honour done them.
He however charged them on the need to excel in their academics as he promised to give scholarship grant to any member who may wish to pursue his/her academic to doctorate degree level.
Earlier, the Students Union Government president of Uniport Comrade Solomon Amadi has lauded the federal lawmaker over his commitment towards the welfare of students in his constituency, saying that Uchendu his the leader they count on in Ikwerre.
