Osaze Ready To Rumble Against Benin Rep
Osaze Odemwingie could start against the Squirrels of Benin tomorrow after the player himself confirmed that he is back to full fitness and ready to return to the pitch.
“I am very fit now and ready to go. Yes, I am very okay,” the speedy forward said on the Nigeria Football Federation website, saying he was disturbed, like every member of the squad, over Tuesday’s loss to the Pharaohs of Egypt and is eager to step on the field against the tiny neighbours to the west on Saturday.
Odemwingie has played at three African Cup of Nations finals (2004, 2006 and 2008) and is eager to have a feel of the ball at his fourth. He was one of Nigeria’s two alternate players at the 2002 World Cup finals, but did not play.
He had been disturbed by an infection since the team arrived the training camp in Durban, South Africa at the end of December.
