Ohakim Awards Scholarship To 60 Students
Imo State Governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim has awarded scholarship to 60 sons and daughters of Osu clan, Isiala Mbano LGA in various tertiary institutions of learning.
The governor while presenting the award at Central School, Osu called on the awardees to compete with their contemporaries in the state, adding that he has adopted them as his children and urged them to be a source of motivation and encouragement to the younger ones.
Chief Ohakim said that 2010 is christened year of the youths, and called on the youths to make use of technology positively and avoid anti-social activities capable of ruining their future.
In his speech, the President General of Osu Clan, Chief Eddy Onuoha urged the people to seize the opportunity to bring development to their communities and urged the governor to give adequate attention to some roads in the area.
Onuoha also called on traditional rulers to come up with appropriate solutions to instill discipline among the people and ensure adequate security of lives and properties.
Also speaking, the Co-ordinator of Fadoma III in Imo State, Mr. Vitus Enwerem lauded the initiative, pointing out that it has scaled to a higher level the competitive spirit of the youths.
