Chairman Tasks kuru-Ama On Peace

The Chairman of the Okuru-Ama Town Council, Deacon Dennis Minabere, has pledged to run a people-driven administration anchored on equity, transparency and participation of all members of the community.

Deacon Minabere, who spoke after his screening  along with 17 others urged the people to maintain the current peaceful atmosphere in the community to attract development projects.

He announced that a summit of major stakeholders in the community would be convened to articulate the road map for the rebuilding of the once incarcerated community and called on government at all levels to assist the new leadership to fast track development.

Some members of the 18-man town council include the vice chairman, Bright Clement, the Secretary, Bob Makintosh, Charles Kalaiyo and Christopher Peter who bagged the position of treasurer and financial secretary, respectively.

Similarly, a six man community development committee was sworn-in for the community. They are Prophet Gabriel Elijah Chairman, Davies Alagoka Vice Chairman, Princewill Okuru Secretary, Tamunoene Allision Asst. Secretary, Siyeofori Godpower Treasurer and Kuro King Financial Secretary.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the outgoing governing council of the community, Chief O.D.W. Oruboko described the event as a fulfillment of the peoples desire to have a democratically elected leadership and urged those sworn-in to work hard to meet the yearings and aspirations of the Okuru-Ama people.
