As the Carribean Island of Haiti recovers from the tragic shock of the earthquake that took place in the country, the Centre of Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC) has joined millions of sympathizers in the world to condoled with victims.

Director General of the centre, Prof Tunji Babawale said a lot of artifacts, books, and other articles which depicts black African race would have been lost.

He said the centre feels it must put all efforts together to ensure it assists the people of Haiti not just by sending condolences to them or in terms of providing materials or money and in terms of providing humanitarian services but in terms of recovery of lost artifacts.

“We feel that Haiti as the first independent black nation in the world needs to be supported. It is the territory that gives a lot of information about the history of the third world African people against slavery and racial discrimination,” he said.
