Skipper Nwankwo Kanu and midfielder Seyi Olofinjana arrived at the Super Eagles training camp in Durban, South Africa at about noon on Sunday to give Shuaibu Amodu the full complement of players he has named to prosecute this month’s Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Both players joined the team in time for the evening kick about with South African National First Division side Thanda Royal Zulu at the Absa Stadium.

The contingent that departed from Lagos arrived at the Riverside Hotel and Spa at 10:05am on Thursday and trained at the ABSA Stadium at 5pm of the same day.

They also trained on Friday morning, going through a strenous strength session that left no doubt as to the fitness of the players who took part in the New Year’s Day session.

But there was some respite for the lads later in the day, as they had a barbecue organised for them to celebrate the New Year. Saturday was back to the grindstone, with another grueling session, as the coaches worked on fitness, and then tactics.

The team will fly out to Angola on January 8, four days before their opening game against champions Egypt.
