Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has attributed the relative peace being witnessed in the State to the prayers of Christians and religious leaders.
Governor Amaechi stated this yesterday  at a Combined Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) tagged “Let the wind blow” in Port Harcourt.
Represented by his deputy, Engr. Tele Ikuru, Governor Amaechi said that the several prayers of Christians have returned the State to the path of prosperity and development.
According to him, the State was infested with crime in the past two years, pointing out that government is now able to carry out some developmental projects while the private sector has been reactivated to bring the economy back to normalcy.
In his words, “God has used religious leaders and Christians to bring light to the State where there was darkness in recent times,” and thanked the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, for the work he is doing in the lives of the people.
In his sermon, the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who dwelt on the theme of the service, “Let the wind blow”, noted that whenever the wind of God blows several things happen in the lives of mankind.
He observed that “when God’s wind blows, the potentials in man begin to manifest thereby unraveling the destiny of the man,” saying that such wind can only’ be experienced when “you honour and praise God” .
Pastor Adeboye expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, his deputy, Engr. Tele Ikuru, and the people of the State for the hospitality shown him and his ministry.
