The State Security Service (SSS) at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa has arrested a Clearing and Forwarding Agent for allegedly attempting to smuggle a complete police uniform with rank outside the country.
The suspect, Mr Chika Amadi working with Slot Engineering Limited was arrested on Wednesday at 16.05 hours at the Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL) while trying to export a complete police uniform overseas.
Sources hinted The Weekend Tide that it was during the joint examination by the security agencies that the police uniforms were allegedly found in a bag belonging to Mr Amadi who said that they were given to him by Mr Lev Clean, an expatriate working for Shell, Port Harcourt.
Investigation by the security officials revealed that Mr Kleen had left the country about a month ago but left behind his personal effects.
The suspect and the exhibits have been transported to the Rivers State Security Service command headquarters.
Efforts by The Weekend Tide to contact the commandant of the SSS at the airport, proved abortive, but a reliable source revealed that the command is handling the matter.
