Rivers State Government has been urged to lift the ban placed on activity of Omoku Youths Associaton in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state which was invoked following the attitude of rivalry groups in the area.

The Managing Director, Caledonia Hotel and Victoria Plaza, Mr Sunny Robert made the call during an interview with newsmen who called on him in his office at Omoku last weekend.

He said that the ban which was strategically implored to coushin the tension created by activity of rivalry youth groups that nearly tore the community apart has achieved a reasonable level of success as sanity has returned to the area.

To lift the ban would give the people a sense of belonging, Mr Robert said, expressing satisfaction with government over the integrity, maturity, and wisdom disposed in handling the matter at that sensitive period.

Describing the approach as a giant stride, the managing director explained that the development helped to calm the situation and fastly restored sustainable peace in the community.

Ho noted with optimism that the call to lift the ban was for the over all good and wellbeing of the people as all hands would now be on deck to attract development to the area for posterity.

Mr Robert said that the youth members and other stakeholders associated with the problems that led to the ban must have noted their short comings, adding that no meaningful development could be recorded in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony.

He urged the youths to engage in meaningful activities that would equip them with the potentials to face challenges as future leaders now that they are full of strength and vigour.

Politically, economically, traditionally and otherwise the importance of youth organisation in a local community can not be over emphasized, Mr Robert said, urging the youths to recognise the fact that their contribution to nation building is imperative while guiding against been used for selfish motive.
