Police Rescue Kidnap Victims, Recover N3m

The Rivers State Police Command in a renewed security strategy has rescued two kidnapped victims from their abductors.

The victims, Mrs Gladys Israel Cookey and little Deedum, who were kidnapped on November 4, and  November 26 this year respectively were rescued by the Police after an intensive security surveillance.

According to a Press Statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Command, Mrs Rita Inoma-Abbey stated that the six year old Deedum, who hails from Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State was rescued by the Police on road check when they intercepted the car in which Little Deedum and his abductors were driven.

The statement further said that on interrogation by the Police, the abductors escaped and abandoned their victim.

The release said that two of the hoodlums were later arrested in the process with a suspected stolen Toyota camry car with Registration Number AH935 BGM.

It was also gathered that the sum of N3 million cash was recovered from the hoodlums after the arrest.

Meanwhile, the Police has spread its dragnet to apprehend all the other fleeing suspects and bring them to book.
