NFF Sets Up Electoral Committee
Nigeria’s Premier League organising body has set up a seven-man committee to conduct elections into its board for the 2010-2014 cycle.
The committee has Alhaji Muazu Sulieman as Chairman, with oustpoken former 2nd Vice Chairman of the NFA, Bar. Nwabunor Richard Obienu and sports writer Ben Memuletiwon as members.
Other members of the committee include Chief Julius Government, Alhaji Gana Kachala and Bar. Isaac Danladi, while veteran sports journalist Mr. Paul Bassey will serve as Secretary.
The Committee will be inaugurated on Friday, 11th December, at the NPL Secretariat, 31 Karaye Close, Garki II, Abuja.
The Committee is charged with the responsibility of conducting and drawing out guidelines for a free and fair election in line with section 32 of the statutes of the Nigeria Premier League.
The swashbuckling Oyuiki Obaseki currently leads the 14-man board, but his position has come under severe opposition from within and outside and the coming elections will be a stiff test of his devil-may-care style.
