Legislators Vote For Council Boss

Ahoada-West Legislative Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on the council chairman, Hon. (Barr) Awori Miller, following his developmental achievements in the area.

Leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Wilson Karibo disclosed this to journalists in Port Harcourt recently, adding that the council chairman, Hon. Miller deserved to be accorded the necessary respect and honour based on his outstanding contributions towards the development of the area.

According to him, Awori has initiated and executed many projects, in tune with Section 7 of the Fourth Schedule of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that bear directly on the lives of the people, which include the completion of Ula-Ubie Town, purchases of mass transit buses and construction of ultra-model council secretariat in Akinima.

The AWELGA House Leader opined that besides these, the council boss has also embarked on the provision of free medical care in conjunction with the Nigeria Medical Association, maintenance of peace in various communities in the local government area, building of Ubeta Police Station, completion and equipping of Ubeta Health Centre, adding that others include the completion of car loans to legislators and executive council members and purchases of buses for the local government council’s council of chiefs.

He stated that based on these achievements the councilors decided to pass a votes of confidence on the council chairman, and enjoined him to sustain the tempo of development in the area.

Commenting on a motion of vote of confidence on council chairman, brought by the councilor representing Ward 4 in the area, Hon. Jeremiah Moses Awah and seconded by Hon. Isaac Ifigwe, the Chief Whip, representing Ward 10, said that the motion was due to Hon. Aworji’s effective utilisation of public fund as well as the people-oriented projects he has successfully completed.
