The Yar’Adua for New Nigeria Organisation has added its voice to the call on the nation to pray fervently for the speedy recovery of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

The Rivers State Co-ordinator of the organisation, Barrister Daddy West who made the call in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt, yesterday, described President Yar’Adua as a visionary leader whose leadership approach had impacted positively on the political, economic and social well being of the nation.

Barrister West, a former national Legal Adviser to the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Special Adviser to former governor of Rivers state, Dr Peter Odili described the call for the removal of the president as unpatriotic and inhuman.

He commended members of the Federal Executive Council and the governor’s forum for rejecting pressures to invoke the constitutional provision to remove the president from office, arguing that recent reports on the health condition of the president did not in any way suggest incapability.

“As Nigerians, all we need now is to pray for the president to quickly recover from the illness. Mr President’s present condition should not be seen as another opportunity to politic but a moment to demonstrate to the outside world, how much we love ourselves and our country Nigeria”, he said.

Barrister West recalled the achievements president Yar’Adua has recorded within three years of his administration through the 7-point agenda particularly in addressing issues of the Niger Delta. “If not for any thing, we in the Niger Delta can not afford to miss him, he said.
