Ghana Will Excel In Angola -Amoah

Matthew Amoah is confident the Black Stars can put up a good display in Angola despite a squad lacking on experience and the absence of key midfielder Sulley Muntari.

Milovan Rajevac has banked Ghana’s Nations Cup hopes on six national Under-20 players while calling up the likes of Hans Sarpei and Moussa Narry who have struggled for first team football this season.

The Serbian also axed Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari and captain Stephen Appiah who was confident he could recover from a calf injury in time for the tournament.

But Amoah who will be one of the most experienced members of the squad travelling to Angola hopes the team can put themselves together at the tournament.

“I don’t really think their absence will be a problem at all. We have good players who can play and I think they can do the job well,” Amoah told Tidesports source.

“I spoke to Stephen Appiah and I know he’s injured but I haven’t spoken to Sulley Muntari yet.

It’s the coach who takes the decisions.”         Ghana is in group at the Nations Cup with Togo, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso and open their campaign on January 11, against neighbours Togo in Cabinda.
