Unity Road: Ikuru Lauds Amaechi
Satisfied with the level of work on the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road, the Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr Tele Ikuru, has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Chibuike Amaechi on his efforts at ensuring the speedy completion of the project.
Engr Ikuru, who was speaking to newsmen shortly after inspecting the Ikuru Town axis of the road which terminates on the Atlantic Ocean, expressed optimism that the road after completion would serve as a major trade route for the people of Andoni.
According to him, the director of the company handling the Ikuru Town to Atlantic Ocean axis of the project, Quantum Links Services Ltd, Mr Clement Clement, disclosed that the minimum life span of the 3.75 kilometer road was fifty years.
Mr Clement stated that work on the road was in progress as it was now on the earth filling stage while architectural work had been completed.
He, however, said that due to the difficult terrain of the area, the company was facing some logistics problems which, according to him, were being taken care of.
The director assured that the company’s part of the project would be completed in seven months time and called on the people of Ikuru Town and other adjoining communities to have faith and support the Governor Amaechi-led administration.
