S’As Call For Specific Roles In Governance

The Conference of Special Advisers to State Governors of Nigeria have called for specific roles for special advisers in their respective States.

The call which was contained in a communique  made available to newsmen at the end of its third Bi-Annual conference in Port Harcourt said that Governors in the country need to assign specific roles and job schedules to their special Advisers to minimise tension in governance.

The communiqué also called for the establishment of Special Advisers council in each state of the federation where they do not exist.

It also urged special Advisers to develop a framework that will assist their Chief Executives in blocking financial leakages and thereby increasing the revenue for infrastructural development and provision of social services.

The conference urged special Advisers to design policies aimed at increasing revenue generation capacity of state Government and promote public private partnership to attract private investors.

The communiqué which was signed by Prof. (Amb) J. Bawa Salka, chairman National working committee and Hon. Batom Mitee, the secretary, National Working Committee also urged Special Advisers to source and develop a frame work to access grants from international financial institutions such as the World Bank and Africa Development Bank.
