A middle-aged woman has lost her life in an auto accident which occurred along the Rumuji-Ndele axis of the East-West road. The woman who was coming from a bush market with a vehicle load of plantain allegedly met her death when the vehicle with registration number Rivers CA 512 PHC rammed into an abandoned lorry along the road. The vehicle was torn to pieces, leading to the death of the woman while the driver of the vehicle who miraculously escaped unhurt was nowhere to be found, as at the time of the incident. The accident caused a heavy traffic hold-up along the road. Meanwhile, the body of the woman has been deposited at the Ahoada General Hospital mortuary. In another development, four corpses allegedly decomposed were trapped along the Okogbe-Mbiama axis of the East-East road following the heavy traffic witnessed there. The corpses which were being taken for burial from Port Harcourt were trapped in the traffic for over five hours, allegedly blamed on Setraco Nigeria Limited which carried out the repair of the road. Relatives of the deceased wept uncontrollably, abusing both the federal government and Sectraco for not only neglecting the road but choosing to do it during morning hours.
