Radio GM Advises Female Journalists On Unity…As NAWOJ Marks 20th Anniversary
As the Nigerian Association ofWomen Journalists(NAWOJ) celebrates her 20th anniversary nationwide, the General Manager, Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, Ms Mediline Tador, has charged female journalists in the state to be more united now than ever.
Tador gave the charge Saturday when NAWOJ members visited her residence” during a bob-a-job exercise organised by the association.
Addressing the women journalists, Ms Tador appreciated them for such initiative and enjoined them to keep up the spirit as that could consolidate their unity. She also called for persistence among members in the pursuit of their overall goal as that could facilitate an eventual success. The bob-a-job exercise which was executed within Port Harcourt metropolis, was part of the activities locally organised to mark the associations 20th anniversary.
The hallmark of the exercise was random visitations to the residents of former chair persons as well as friends of the association, during which sanitation exercises were carried out in the respective residences so visited. Meanwhile, the association had embarked on a “wash-your-hand”, campaign on Friday, at Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Port Harcourt, a programme designed to sensitise and educate Rivers State students and pupils on the need to improve their personal hygiene and live a healthier life through washing their hands with soap after contact with every activity that possibly attracts germs.
