Orji, Apugo Settle Rift
The face-off between Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State and his kinsman, a member of PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Benjamin Apugo, seems to be over, following the Governor’s visit to the PDP chieftain’s home in Umuahia.
Apugo has been a strong critic of Governor Orji and had always reminded the governor that he was not doing well for the state. However, during the visit, Apugo was said to have pledged his support to the governor.
Speaking while receiving the governor, who called on him, at his country home in Nkata Ibeku, Prince Apugo was said to have said that he supported Orji when he was running for election, adding that the governor is his brother.
He said he will not sit back and watch anyone toy with the governor, adding that what he expects from his administration was the development of the state.
He said that he was aware that the governor has challenges, but added that it behoves on him to explain his predicament to the people.
